The Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof Denis Aheto, has inaugurated a Postgraduate Research Centre situated at the School of Graduate Studies.

The Centre is to facilitate the research work of postgraduate students.

Prof. Aheto, in a speech, said the inauguration was an indication of the University’s commitment to promoting research by academic research fellows and students, adding that it was timely, considering that the University was hosting some international postgraduate programmes.

He praised the President of the Graduate Students Association of Ghana (GRASAG), UCC chapter, Mr. Gideon Quansah, and his executives for their foresight.

He expressed hope that the new facility would further promote scholarly work at the University.

For his part, Mr. Gideon Quansah said the Centre would create an enabling environment for meaningful academic work.

He added that the association would continue to support teaching and learning in the University and called on students to maintain the Centre.
