The University of Cape Coast (UCC) School of Nursing and Midwifery has hosted nursing students from Salisbury University, USA, as part of efforts to enhance academic partnerships and promote cross-cultural collaboration in healthcare education.
The students will seek practical exposure on Ghana Health Systems.
The visit also seeks to equip the foreign students with basic knowledge to enable them to appreciate their field of study and the interaction with students and faculty of the UCC.

The Dean of the School of Nursing and Midwifery at UCC, Prof. Jerry Paul Kukye-Ayiri Ninnoni, expressed optimism about the potential benefits of the partnership.
“We believe and hope that their experience will be holistic,” he remarked.
He urged the students to take their studies seriously to enable them know at firsthand the Ghanaian healthcare system.
A Fulbright Scholar from the School of Nursing at Salisbury University, Prof. Tina Reid, conveyed her gratitude for the hospitality shown by UCC.

“Words cannot express my sincere gratitude for this warm welcome,” she said, emphasizing her enthusiasm for the collaboration.
Prof. Reid encouraged her students to fully engage with the knowledge exchange opportunities and apply the insights gained to their work back home. "Take advantage to learn how to blend knowledge learnt back home,” she urged.

There were presentations on Ghana Health systems, Ghanaian culture, and UCC.
The students also toured academic facilities within UCC. They will visit hospitals and CHP compounds in the Central Region to familarise their operations.
