The Directorate of Research Innovation and Consultancy, DRIC, has held a capacity-building session on WriteShop on Manuscript Preparation for selected faculty members.

The programme was aimed at equipping both career and experienced researchers in scientific writing and publication.

It was also to provide an opportunity for faculty members who may require some quiet space away from the University, as well as mentorship and technical support to complete manuscripts for publication in Scopus/ISI-indexed journals.

The Director of DRIC, Prof. David Teye Doku, at the opening of the five-day workshop, entreated participants to take advantage of the programme to hone their skills in manuscript preparation.

He cautioned participants against publishing their works in predatory journals, stressing that such a move would tarnish the image of the University.

Prof. Doku proposed to Departments, Schools, Faculties and Colleges to set aside part of their research budgets to organise similar workshops to expand their knowledge on manuscript preparation in the University in order for UCC to maintain its enviable position as the best University in Ghana according to the rankings by the Times Higher Education

Prof. Kwaku Oppong Asante; and Dr. Nii-Boye Quarshie facilitated the workshop, which was held in Winneba of the Central region.
