The College of Health and Allied Sciences has held a handing over ceremony to welcome its new Provost.

The College of Health and Allied Sciences has held a handing over ceremony to welcome its new Provost. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, who until his appointment was the Provost of the College handed over to Prof. Martins Ekor. Prof. Boampong thanked Dr. Emmanuel Abu for holding the fort till the appointment of a substantive Provost. He called on faculty and staff of the college to work in unity to support the new provost. “We have been working together and we need to continue and give maximum support to the new provost to reposition the College by creating an enabling environment for everyone”. The Vice-Chancellor advised Prof Ekor to be a unifying force for CoHAS and also be selfless in his service to be able to achieve his vision for the College. Prof. Boampong said he would also do his part to ensure that the College would get its fair share of projects to expand the College to enroll more students. On his part, Prof. Ekor expressed his gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for gracing the occasion. He thanked Council for giving him the opportunity to serve the College and the University in the capacity of Provost. He thanked the Vice-Chancellor and Dr. Abu for the work they did to unify the College. He expressed his readiness and willingness to work with everyone and promised to uphold the legacy of the Vice-Chancellor and maintain a unified house. Prof. Ekor appealed to Deans of the various faculties to support him to build a strong and solid structure. “We are here to build a College, we all have a common goal and it will not be prudent to have a common goal and not be united,” he said. Present at the gathering were Deans, College Registrar and some lecturers of the College.
