Central Regional Police Commander Calls on University Management

The Central Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP), Ohene Boadi-Bossman, has assured management of the University that the police would continue to work hard to ensure security on campus.

He gave the assurance when he called on the Chairman of the University Council, Justice William Anaam Atuguba (Rtd.) and Management of the University at the Council Chamber. The Regional Commander was accompanied by his Deputy, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ibrahim Sulley, and the Regional Crime Officer, Chief Superintendent James Nyadedjor.

DCOP Boadi-Bossman noted that maintaining security on campus remained a priority for the Police and assured the University authorities that the Command would continue to work closely with the University’s Security Section to safeguard lives and property within the University community.

“Security is a shared responsibility, and we are always ready to support the University in this regard, just as we have been doing,” he stated.

In his remarks, Justice Atuguba expressed his appreciation to the Regional Commander and his team for their continued support in maintaining peace and order on campus. He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Police to ensure the safety of staff, students, and other members of the University community.

“We will continue to cooperate with the Police to ensure that the University remains a safe and conducive environment for teaching, learning, and research,” he said.

Justice Atuguba added that the University would continue to rely on the Police for intelligence sharing and professional guidance to help sustain a peaceful academic environment on campus.

Present at the meeting were the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Denis Worlanyo Aheto, Registrar, Gideon Enoch Abbeyquaye, Esq; Provosts and some members of UCC Council.
