The Acting Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Prof. Christine Adu-Yeboah, has paid a day’s working visit to directorates at the Central Administration.

The visits helped her engage directors and staff of each directorate to familiarize herself with their operations and identify challenges in their work.

During the visits, directors of the respective directorates briefed Prof. Adu-Yeboah on the structure and functions of their offices, ongoing activities, policies and committees, and challenges requiring immediate attention.

Prof. Adu-Yeboah interacted with staff of the Directorate of Academic Affairs, Directorate of Human Resource, Directorate of Internal Audit, Directorate of Consular and General Services, Directorate of Public Affairs, and Directorate of Information and Communications Technology Services.

Speaking during the engagements, Prof. Adu-Yeboah said the visits were important to enable her to understand how the various directorates operate and the roles they play in managing the University’s administration and academic activities.

She noted that the information gathered would help her appreciate the challenges confronting the directorates and identify areas that required intervention. She assured the directors and staff that she would work towards addressing most of the challenges during her tenure.

Prof. Adu-Yeboah also highlighted the value of collaboration, noting that she was still learning from the different directorates and their experiences. She assured directors and staff that she operates an open-door policy; therefore, they were always welcome to engage with her.

The courtesy visits are intended to foster stronger collaboration between the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor and the various directorates. It further reinforces the University’s dedication to effective administration, open communication, and ongoing improvement across its directorates and support services.
