The University of Cape Coast (UCC) School of Biological Sciences has awarded 108 students at its maiden Dean’s awards ceremony.

In all, 57 Level 200 students, 33 level 300 and 18 level 400 students were awarded at the  event to recognise and motivate high performing students who obtained first class at the end of each academic year.

The Dean of the School, Prof. Aaron Tetteh Asare, congratulated the award winners and urged other students  to take their studies seriously to enable them to graduate with good classes.

He asked them to take advantage of every opportunity that comes their way in school  and society, and always show love and respect to their parents and lecturers.

The Dean told them to build valuable networks as they formed part of the building blocks through which they could progress in society.

He reminded the students to make good use of their time and urged them not to waste time on unnecessary things but rather use their time profitably.

An awardee in level 400, Jessica Danso, who spoke on behalf of her colleagues, expressed gratitude to the School and promised that they would study hard to be on the Dean's list next academic year.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Denis Aheto, who chaired the event, commended the awardees and encouraged those who could not make it on the Dean's list to study hard to make it year.

All the awardees were presented with certificates.
